Sapa Paragliding Price 2026: Full-Cost Breakdown

A tandem paragliding flight in Sapa costs around $90 (2,390,000 VND) per person when you book directly with FlySapa. That price covers everything: hotel pickup and drop-off, the flight itself, GoPro video and photos, insurance, a certificate, a small gift, and water. The same flight sold through booking platforms like GetYourGuide costs around $134 - the difference is their commission.

Below is the full breakdown, so you know exactly where your money goes and what (if anything) costs extra.

How Much Does Each Flight Option Cost?

Prices are per person and current as of July 2026. The VND price is the official one; dollar and euro figures move slightly with exchange rates. You can pay in cash or by card at the office before the flight.

What Exactly Is Included in the $90?

The standard flight package is genuinely all-inclusive. Here is what you get, item by item:

Item

Included?

Hotel pickup and drop-off in Sapa

Yes

Transfer to the take-off on Ham Rong Mountain (1,750 m)

Yes

Safety briefing and all flight gear

Yes

The flight - 10–15 minutes, 750 m of descent

Yes

GoPro video and photos of your flight

Yes

Sport insurance

Yes

Flight certificate, gift, water

Yes

Drone (flycam) video of your flight

Optional extra - 250,000 ₫ (~$10)

Worth flagging: many paragliding operators worldwide sell the video footage separately, often for $30–50 on top of the flight. In Sapa, the GoPro footage is part of the base price, which changes the real cost comparison more than the sticker price suggests.

Is It Cheaper to Book Direct or Through Klook and GetYourGuide?

Direct is cheaper. The same flight - same pilots, same take-off, same package - is listed on GetYourGuide at around $134. Platforms add their commission on top of our price; that's how they work, and it's fair enough. But there is no version of this where the platform is the better deal.

Paragliding Sapa

The honest case for booking through a platform anyway: if you already have credit there, or you want their cancellation interface instead of messaging us on WhatsApp, that convenience might be worth $44 to you.

Otherwise, book directly and spend the difference on a few good dinners in Sapa town.

How Does the Price Compare with Paragliding Elsewhere?

For context, typical 2026 tandem prices at well-known sites: Interlaken, Switzerland, run about CHF 170–200 ($210–250), Oludeniz, Turkey, about $150–180, and Pokhara, Nepal, about $70–90. Sapa sits at the affordable end of that range - with a higher vertical drop than most.

Our take-off at 1,750 m and landing at 1,000 m give 750 m of descent; commercial sites worldwide average around 500 m.

What Costs Extra — and What Doesn't?

The only real add-on is the drone (flycam) video - 250,000 VND, about $10 - which you can decide on the day.

Nothing else: no gear rental fee, no fuel surcharge, no "insurance upgrade". Tipping is appreciated but not expected - it's not part of the culture in Vietnam the way it is in the US.

One cost people forget: getting to Sapa itself. If you're coming from Hanoi, budget roughly $15–25 for a sleeper bus or limousine van each way.

What Happens to Your Money if Weather Cancels the Flight?

Paragliding depends on weather, and Sapa's weather has opinions. If we cancel for safety - wind, rain, low cloud - you choose: reschedule to another slot at no charge or take your money back.

Paragliding

You never pay for a flight that didn't happen. During the September–November flying season, cancellations are the exception rather than the rule.

Is $90 Worth It for a 15-Minute Flight?

Fair question - and the one people actually mean when they ask about price. The flight is 10–15 minutes, but what you're paying for is the whole operation around it: a licensed outfit (Flying License No. 6484, Ministry of Defense; Air Sport Business License No. 19, Lao Cai Department of Tourism and Sports), professional tandem pilots, certified gear that is triple-checked before every launch, hotel transfers both ways, insurance - and the highest commercial take-off in Vietnam.

The other part of the math is the flight itself. With 750 m of vertical, Sapa gives you roughly 50% more airtime than a typical 500 m site, charging similar money elsewhere in the world.

And nothing else in Sapa - not the cable car, not any viewpoint - shows you the Muong Hoa Valley the way 700 meters of open air does.

Most guests tell us afterward it was the highlight of their entire Vietnam trip.
